Updated: Mar 9

Hon. Lorna Ann Milne, daughter of LKRA founding member, William Dennison, first dipped her toes in Kasshabog Lake in 1940. This remarkable woman earned a degree at the University of Guelph, and subsequently lectured in their Physics department. Following in her father's footsteps, she developed

a passion for politics and community activism. In 1995, she was appointmented to the Senate on the advice of Prime Minister Chretien and served with distinction until her retirement in 2009.

Monday, June 5, 2023, a special ceremony was held in her honor at the Senate Building in Ottawa. Lorna was a remarkable woman who thoroughly embraced life and will be missed dearly by her husband Ross Milne and children Robert (Jennifer Conron), Jeanne, and Alec (Jocelyn Colquhoun). Her obituary paints the story of a life well lived. A mini-documentary about the late Senator Lorna Milne's reflections on summers spent at Kasshabog Lake (Ontario, Canada) was filmed and edited by Colin Field in 2021.
